Emily’s List Acquisition

Acquisition | Illustration

In addition to years of developing Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter ads for Emily’s List general acquisition program, I’m proudest of my work on their Run to Win Program which recruited 42,000+ women including 10,584 women of color, and ultimately 296 women who ranforoffice in 2016 and 2017. We translated post-2016 anger into action by inspiring women to run for office by appealing to a younger, more diverse audience by creating inviting, grassroots feeling ad designed to make running for office feel accessible and approachable.

They centered around the iconic pantsuit - in Emily’s List color palettes but all different styles, shapes, and sizes, inviting all women to join the movement, women who may have never before held political aspirations. This more organic, hand drawn illustrations and lettering was a push for the Emily’s List brand but was key in moving away from any connection to a stodgy, corporate establishment tone.
